Memphis 29 Ark St 17, FINAL

Unable to make it three years in a row against Memphis, ASU fell 29-17 on Saturday to the Tigers at the Liberty Bowl. There was no Hail Mary with no time left. There was no 25 point comeback in the second half. In fact, ASU didn't score any points in the second half.

FINAL GAME NOTES:

Leonard threw for 173 yards on 11 completions. He also ran the ball for 51 yards on 15 carries with one TD. He also threw his second interception of the season and turned the bowl over by the way of a fumble.

Derek Lawson ran for 79 yards on 11 carries while junior running back Reggie Arnold ran for 49 yards on 13 carries with one TD. This is the second time this season that Arnold was held under one hundred yards.

M.D. Jennings led the team with 11 total tackles while Ben Owens had eight total tackles.

MEMPHIS NOTES

Curtis Steele rushed fo 203 yards on 22 carries in today's game for his second consecutive game over 100 yards. He tallied 109 yards on 20 carries last weekend versus Nicholls State. Steele reached his 100th yard on a 46 yard carry in the third quarter, which was the longest run from scrimmage since DeAngelo Williams had a 67-yard run versus Akron in 2005. This is also the first time since the 2005 season that a Tiger back has rushed for back to back 100-yard games.
